MDA Chairman of the Board Robert L. Phillips to receive Institute of Corporate Directors Fellowship Award

Vancouver, BC - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. ("MDA" or the "Company") (TSX: MDA), a global communications and information company, is pleased to announce that Mr. Robert L. Phillips, chairman of the MDA board of directors, will receive the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) Fellowship Award at its annual gala on June 22, 2017 in Toronto.

Howard L. Lance, president and chief executive officer of MDA said, “On behalf of the MDA board of directors and senior management, I want to congratulate Bob on this great honour. Since joining the MDA board in 2003 and becoming chairman in 2005, he has made significant contributions to the success of our company. The ICD is a not-for-profit, member-based association of more than 12,000 members across Canada. It serves as the only globally recognized Canadian director organization. Created in 1997, the ICD Fellowship Awards are the highest distinction for corporate directors. Nominated by their peers and selected by an independent committee that evaluates a wide range of criteria, ICD Fellows are individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Canadian enterprises and not-for-profit organizations through sound corporate governance leadership inside and outside of the boardroom. Across the country, 81 Canadian corporate directors have previously received this award.
